Dita Von Teese exemplifies everything I love about alt. She can be the spokesmodel for everything from retro lingerie to Perrier, she appears on BlueBlood and on the covers of countless fetish magazines, yet she can do Playboy, and her burlesque performances are so legendary that she almost single-handedly is responsible for the burlesque resurgence. I love that her makeup is always so distinctive and perfect. According to Blue Blood, Dita Von Teese is on the Las Vegas CSI tonight, so I am going to go watch TV, as soon as I am done on the internet for tonight.
Forrest Black and I shot a lot of coverage of the Tease-o-Rama event. Most of it was portraiture, but Dita’s performances are so amazing that I was down for some live photos of this part. Some of this ran in Marquis magazine in print, but, as always, Blue Blood VIP members see it all. I thought this fae shower routine was really inspired. Although some of the world’s top designers will make Dita Von Teese outfits, she and Catherine D’Lish personally constructed some of my favorite ensembles of hers.
