Well, I was sick as a dog, so that helped, but I was indeed working on DarkPlay-related stuff.  Last night I spent the evening editing and scanning images and I got it done!  (Well, almost.  I need three more images.)  But here it is:  The Saga of DarkPlay

I still need to get a few images off of some archive CDs.  And I was thinking of maybe making the thumbnails link to bigger images, but I don’t want to send my bandwidth through the roof!  Maybe just some of them … which images would people like to see in large?

Really interesting piece written by Zille Defeu about the history of DarkPlay.net. I think this bit sums up a lot about this genre, and why I personally was interested enough to start this blog about it:

In the end, we kept DarkPlay small – and authentic. Alexi focused more on her work. I got another job to supplement. Why? Many reasons, but the main one is: what is the point of DarkPlay if it is not real? There are tons of big corporate BDSM sites, but there is no other site like DarkPlay. It would destroy DarkPlay to turn it in to something else. That is not to say it cannot grow, but we decided it should grow in natural, organic ways, without financial pressure.

For me, this is what “altporn” is about: not tattoos and piercings and talking about which NIN record you like to have sex to (none of them), but expression of sexuality in a truly independent, DIY way.

Fuck, now I sound like a Fugazi fan.
