If you saw Bad Dragon‘s April first post about their new Jerry the Gnome toy, you could be forgiven for assuming it was not real. If you obsessively hit reload on their ready-made inventory page, you can watch the number of gnomes available count down in real time. Every April, Bad Dragon announces a sort of joke toy. Past April one releases have ranged from silicone brass knuckles to a silicone fire hydrant. The April Fools drop is something whimsical and funny. But also you can really order it, only for an incredibly limited time. While I have been writing this post, the remaining Jerry the Gnome toys have ticked down from 29 available to 26 still available. The Nordic lore of the nisse is that they are temperamental fae creatures which usually help with small household and work tasks (or play disturbing pranks.) I’ll leave it to your imagination what tasks Jerry might assist you with.
Jerry
Jerry the Gnome is a naughty little nisse who tends to enjoy deep, moist dwellings as an avid spelunker. On top of that, Jerry also happens to be adorable and hard to resist. It’s not uncommon to find him enjoying a stroll in the woods and enjoying the company of the wee critters there or those camping out in his beard. At night he has the propensity to collect all kinds of odds and ends while villagers are sleeping. A perfect companion to keep nearby, although you may want to keep your dresser drawers shut tightly, he might sneak away with your drawers or your nighty.Jerry is a little over five strawberries tall and an apple around. He’s not just a great travel companion or sculpture, but for those daring enough to invite this little fella into their bedroom, well, Jerry is your naughty little pleasure Gnome. Handpoured, 100% platinum silicone, and diligently crafted, Jerry is a detailed fella with tiny critters, flowers, and mushrooms in his entourage. You will absolutely fall in love with this wee fella. Get your Jerry the Gnome while he is around for the getting because April Fool’s Day toys disappear quicker than the Holiday itself
