The evening celebrated Issue 59 of Gothic Beauty Magazine, North America’s largest and longest-running gothic publication, now in its 25th year, with a red carpet, giveaways, and a strict gothic, industrial, and fetish dress code that the attendees took as a personal challenge they definitely rose to. The result was a parade of stunning looks: gleaming PVC from head to toe, intricate corsetry, fishnet and leather layering, elaborate body paint, and the kind of bold, confident style that makes subculture endlessly compelling. The step-and-repeat shots captured the range of dark glamour on display, while AltPorn.Net‘s own fetish photographer Steven Sandler’s signature artsy images from inside the club, with all moody light trails, dramatic color, and intimate compositions, captured the energy of the night itself. This June, along with announcing the winners of the AltStar Awards aka AltPorn Awards presented by Bad Dragon, we inducted a few key people into the AltStar Hall of Fame. These are people who have truly changed the shape of alt and made a difference for all creators in the space.

Jessie Lee

• First up, we have Jessie Lee. She appeared on many of the early alternative adult membership sites, including BrokenDollz, DeviantNation, StaggStreet, BurntFilm, and BombshellBrats. Her video work at BurningAngel was breakout performance after breakout performance. Her AltStar Award-winning turn as Wednesday in A Very Adult Wednesday Addams 3 and other BurningAngel productions made mainstream adult studios sit up and take notice at a time when heavily tattooed alt performers were just breaking through and her unique look and passionate performances helped make that happen.

I went to the @altstarmagazine Awards last night to support my husband because he was nominated for male POTY (yay for him!). They started announcing Hall of Fame, and I was thinking to myself, “I wonder if I’ll ever get that.” Sure enough, @jeffreydamnit and @officialmalicemcmunn looked directly at me and announced that I was being awarded Hall of Fame!! The entire audience cheered so loud for so long!! I am still in shock and can’t believe that this is real! Jessa Jupiter Flux

• Next up, we have trailblazer Jessa Jupiter Flux. She appeared on EroticBPM aka Raverporn and other early alt sites. Back in the days before OnlyFans, when membership sites about a specific model were called Solo Girl Sites, Jessa appeared on UndressJess.com which featured cosplay and cams before these things were a staple of alt online personas. She brought a level of content creativity and interactivity to her members that helped set the standard for future cam and fan site platforms.

That’s right. Basically, a lifetime achievement honor for a lifetime spent making alternative content.

I’ve been doing this since the day I turned legal. From posting thirst traps on my old blog, monetizing video chats, teaching myself editing software, HTML & streaming 12–15 live cams from my apartment daily. My entire life has been performance. Art. Survival. Connection.

My fans supported me through grief, breakups, addiction & creative breakthroughs. Some even stopped me this weekend in Arizona to say they’ve followed me from the beginning. I felt it in their eyes. It wrecked me (in the best way).

This work taught me how to feel beautiful. How to legitimately ACT. How to connect. Things I helped pioneer in this space have been adopted industry-wide, with no credit—but #AltStar saw me. They always saw me.

From her wildly popular MySpace profile, to dancing at Devil’s Point and Cheetah’s, to her tattoo magazine covers, to her appearances on BlueBlood.com, GothicSluts, and BarelyEvil, to her extensive music video work, to all the cosmetics and clothing brands she has modeled, Malice has always presented her bold, unapologetic spirit in a way which has literally helped define the alt genre.

The 2025 AltStar Awards celebration was truly amazing this year. We want to thank each and every one of you involved, from the companies and makers that support our vision for a greater alternative community to the producers and talented content creators, to all the legions of fans and friends that diligently nominated and voted to support some of the most awesome work we’ve seen. You all put so much into this and we are so proud to channel that energy into providing a strong and supportive network for all of you to keep creating the fantastic things that you do.

Our spectacular ceremony hosts were once again Jeffrey Damnit as Master of Ceremonies and Malice McMunn as the Trophy Goddess. 2022 and 2024 Best Modern Burlesque Winner Angel Beau showed off her signature style of alternative Vaudeville sideshow burlesque for the intermission entertainment. Our love goes out to all the people who made this weekend’s festivities truly special.

If you are press or a nominee, please contact us for complimentary tickets. Other Industry VIP tickets are available for purchase at altstarawards.com and all you need to do is list your socials or site or where your industry work can be seen and you are good to go.

We started the AltStar Awards aka AltPorn Awards, a decade and a half ago, to recognize some of the amazingly cool creative things that are always going on but often overlooked in our artistically sexual community. The sorts of things that the mainstream industry types might not have understood or appreciated back in the day. But, more and more, they are coming around to what we’ve always enjoyed: Breaking the mold and celebrating diverse individuality, punk rock DIY attitude, ethical creative processes, counterculture influences and a tribal sense of connected supportive community.

It feels amazing that AltPorn.Net has been covering all things AltPorn for over two decades now and we always enjoy the time of year when we can expand on the recognition and appreciation that all of our creative alternative erotica friends and crushes deserve.

This year, we’ve added a Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday May 31st, which is available with a more limited ticket, for those that want to meet their favorite creators and stars, as well as enjoying the exhibits and artists, without requiring the usual industry credentials. Please be respectful.

This is our third year now hosting this welcoming gathering place for the alternative community. This year, we’re excited to host our event at the historic Plaza Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. This iconic venue blends vintage Rat Pack-era charm with modern edge. Built on the site of Vegas’ first train depot from 1905, The Plaza maintains its classic Vegas feel while featuring murals by renowned artists like Shepard Fairey, Faile, and D*Face. Its location at the head of the legendary Fremont Street Experience puts you steps away from Glitter Gulch, the original Las Vegas Strip with its iconic neon skyline, and tons of walking distance places to eat ranging from the award-winning Oscar’s Steakhouse to the open late Pinkbox Doughnuts inside the hotel to many more steps from its doors.

Cap off an unforgettable weekend at year fourteen of our annual AltStar Awards, celebrating excellence across the alternative culture landscape. Join us and and hundreds of the scene’s most influential creatives at Swan Dive, Downtown Las Vegas’s music-focused venue in the vibrant Arts District. Swan Dive is the perfect backdrop for our community—an Austin-born venue designed by music lovers for music lovers, priding itself on inclusivity and creative expression. With its spacious outdoor patio and wraparound balcony offering downtown skyline views, you’ll experience our awards ceremony in an authentically alternative atmosphere, just 1.7 miles from the Plaza. The evening will kick off with our usual star-powered red carpet and open bar, followed by the ceremony and a special burlesque performance.

These are people who have truly changed the shape of alt and made a difference for all creators in the space.

Romi Rain

• First up, we have Romi Rain. When Romi Rain began performing, the industry was starting to be accepting of tattooed performers, but Romi was a leader in being independent, not giving in to conformist pressure from any direction. Romi marched to the beat of her own drummer, which is what alt is all about. Early to performer-owned content, and truly owning her own brand and persona, she has helped show the way for indie success.



Killshot aka Scott Owens

• Next up, we have Killshot, also known as Scott Owens. Killshot is perhaps best known for creating Erotic BPM, also known as RaverPorn, the first explicitly alt membership site in the late 90’s. He was early to social features and his SpicePlay project helped popularize tagging adult content and pioneered the platform model of revenue sharing with models. Killshot has had an incredible influence on the whole structure of sharing and monetizing adult content, which is utilized by every premium social media platform today.



Casey Kisses

• Next up, we have Casey Kisses. With ever-changing hair color and a motorcycle club background, documented in her biopic Casey: A True Story, Casey Kisses has made a mark on the industry as both an alt and trans talent. The top trans performer on Chaturbate, Casey has helped popularize scenes of trans performers with cis women and helped break down barriers in the variety of adult production.



Ashley Fontenot

• Ashley Fontenot was one of just a handful of female photographers shooting alternative erotica in the early 2000’s heyday of altporn membership sites and one of the only ones to more widely license her work, helping to popularize the aesthetic. She was also one of the first to mix altmodels with fetish, glam, and vintage pinup.

This year, AltStar Magazine‘s distributor Zinetastic had an exhibitor display where they gave away thousands of copies of AltStar Magazine #22. In addition, the Zinetastic fun included AltStar Hall of Famer Forrest Black and AltStar and GFY Hall of Famer Amelia G shooting portraits on site in one of their signature location studios. We have four galleries of their incredibly beautiful portraits to post here and we will have some of our favorites in an upcoming issue of AltStar Magazine. We love the amount of personality they capture in their images.
