Gitsie is playing Half-Life, which means she willingly signed up to spend her time solving physics problems while everything around her tries to explode. That game hands the people who play it a crowbar and says figure it out while the environment slowly turns into a science experiment gone very, very wrong. And I love it.
The moment lasers start going off like that, it becomes peak Half-Life. Alarms blaring, machinery malfunctioning, something definitely not following safety regulations and somehow the solution is always a mix of timing, movement, and a little bit of faith in questionable engineering. I would say that it’s less combat and more surviving a building that clearly did not pass inspection.
Gordon Freeman might be silent, but this is exactly the kind of situation where Gitsie is doing all the thinking while the world actively tries to remove her from existence.
