It takes a dedicated father to be interested in a son’s dates. But when Mr. Nichols (Charles Dera) shows up to pickup Tara (Emma Jade) instead of his son, it doesn’t take long to smell something odd. The man keeps getting weirder and weirder in the car, and once he stops in the middle of nowhere to “better know her” it’s obvious he is looking for something more than just a quick chat.
The PureTaboo series is written and directed to lead the viewer in uncomfortable spaces, and this movie is no exception: the subtle abuse, the breaking of boundaries of Mr. Nichols both towards the girl and towards his son are unfortunately a fantasy that has deep real roots.
