BlueBlood: Rubber Dollie Angel RIP Jennifer Anderson

339

Whilst looking over this Goddess’s set on Rubber Dollies it deeply saddened me to learn that she has passed recently.

Jennifer Anderson was definitely a beauty any goth girl would sell their soul to be even close to looking like. She was the singer for San Fransisco punk band “The Nuns” and very much a talented artist, writer, and model. She has the looks and intelligence, the grace and that extra special soul that will never be forgotten. Here she is looking regal, looking poised and a vixen in rubber. Jennifer Anderson has her own look the never will be succeeded. Our condolences to her family and loved ones.

Blue Blood writes:

I felt like the SF Weekly obit did not do Jennifer Anderson justice, so I looked through some old recently-recovered hard drives and found an unpublished photo set Forrest Black and I shot of her to post. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with and to hang out with. She had no filter and would discuss the most personal things with anyone, so she connected with a lot of people, touched a lot of people. Jennifer was very sweet and combined a fun taste for the wild life with a down-to-earth personal warmth.

Jennifer Anderson earned significant counterculture success. Her body of work remains, her music with The Nuns and her writing and the films and images she created with numerous artists. How many scenesters are still noticed and making an impact decades after they first were fabulous enough to attract notice? She was a star in a lot of scenes, in different times, and different places. Fred Berger, publisher of the old Propaganda gothic magazine, told me that the issue with Jennifer was by far his best-selling issue ever. Jennifer had a lot of charisma and likeability.

She is missed.
