My future wife April Flores appears in an experimental new update on BlueBlood. This shoot was lit with only using the fluorescent paint glow from black light. For anyone not familiar with fluorescent paint, that is the sort of raver neon-looking stuff you see spattered on the walls of dance clubs and warehouse which have played host to raves. (Word to the wise: Straight girls will often make out with other women in a rave environment. Just sayin’.) Seeing it in black and white gives a whole different perspective. April Flores looks especially fierce and sensually beautiful here. The whole thing has a really erotic dreamlike quality.
One of the most wonderful things about shooting April Flores is that she has a very artistic and experimental mindset. So when I told her I wanted to try out photographing her naked, lit only by the fluorescent paint on a hallway we had wandered through, April gamely stripped down immediately and was good to go. This is the result of our experiment.
