Winter solstice holidays are, in many cultures, a scary thing. The lights, the warmth, the decorations serve to keep at bay the fright that comes with darkness and cold, and that is why horror matches up so well with the Christmas theme: we are still – deep down – scared children looking for the comfort of sparkling lights and a crackling fireplace.
This is a bit of a flashback post, but we just really loved this little film. The Bargain won Best AltPorn Feature Video in the 2022 AltStar Awards, Best Featurette in the 2023 AVN Awards, and Quirky Best Ruining Christmas in the 2022 Bazowie Awards. The cultural aspect is also why Rick Greenwood‘s story of The Bargain works so well. : Tommy Pistol (with a well deserved AVN Best Featurette Actor) is a man with a dark past that struck a bargain with a female Krampus (Ashley Lane, with a top tier FX makeup) and is now looking to solve the problem (for those that don’t know what a Krampus is, it’s a goat-demon of the Alps, said to beat up or kidnap naughty children at Christmas time – yes, they believe in strict education).
Trapped in a Bargain that already cost him her sister, Tommy now ups the ante and uses his skills as a lover to leverage a better deal. The sex scene between him and the Krampus-ette is more than noteworthy (third AVN award for the featurette, “Most Outrageous Sex Scene”) and the movie overall cries to be watched for its unique quality and story.
