I thought I would write a bit about the title:

Story of the Eye

Is a novel/narrative by George Bataille, an investigation of the sexual fantasy and exploration between the un named male protagonist and a young adolescent girl named Simone. Simone fetishises globular objects, eggs, eyes, testicles etc and plays with the viscosity of liquids, such as egg whites, milk, semen etc. It is a beautifully written, fascinating novel, that has inspired a lot of the work I do so I have put some of the little bits of book work underneath I made partially in response to it.

Anyone who is interested in surrealism, pornography and sexuality from a conceptual point of view should read it. Much better written and goes much deeper than Marquis de Sade etc etc. The copy I have has really interesting essays on Pornography from Susan Sontag and another by Roland Barthes included too.
