It’s the perfect movie for this Halloween season and she’s even picked out a fabulous outfit for today’s show. That striped top, the ghoulish green on her face and those sunken eyes all hint at the fact that she has become the ghost with the most. I’m talking about Beetlejuice! It’s a fantastic version of the character and it’s made even better by the way she smiles and sings along to all these songs.

Well, without spoiling the movie, there is a lot of Thanksgiving related content in there. And honestly, given how little favor people give to the turkeys every holiday, I must say I’m rather impressed with how the revenge plot strikes back. I haven’t giggled so much throughout a horror movie in my life. I want more.

Pearl hits the screen with jazz hands and homicidal intent, and she matches the energy with snack-fueled side-eyes and commentary delivered like a true scream queen-in-training. Every pirouette of madness gets a slow clap. Riding the emotional tractor straight into A24 Hell, farm aesthetic and all is one of my favorite things about this movie and I’m ready for the star to get her girlboss, gaslight, gatekeep moment straight into that little crocodile pit.

Well that and also games. But who doesn’t love games, especially with a big crowd that gets to say a lot of silly things and have fun with it? She doesn’t do warmups—she does soul-crushing one-liners and blood-slicked confidence. And then there’s the movie that she just turned on too, perfect for the occassion and eating boys performance too.

I often forget just how funny these movies are but I’m so glad to have her here to laugh along because some of these shots are really comical. I love the movie theater idea though, it really does make me remember just how cooky some of these classic horrors are. A good slasher needs a good finisher though!
