This June, along with announcing the winners of the AltStar Awards aka AltPorn Awards presented by Bad Dragon, we inducted a few key people into the AltStar Hall of Fame. These are people who have truly changed the shape of alt and made a difference for all creators in the space.

We loved the posts made on Instagram afterwards and have shared those below as well.

Jessie Lee

• First up, we have Jessie Lee. She appeared on many of the early alternative adult membership sites, including BrokenDollz, DeviantNation, StaggStreet, BurntFilm, and BombshellBrats. Her video work at BurningAngel was breakout performance after breakout performance. Her AltStar Award-winning turn as Wednesday in A Very Adult Wednesday Addams 3 and other BurningAngel productions made mainstream adult studios sit up and take notice at a time when heavily tattooed alt performers were just breaking through and her unique look and passionate performances helped make that happen.

I have been in the adult industry for almost 20 years. The longer you’re in it, especially as an alt model, the less you feel like you matter. Sometimes, fighting to stay relevant is all you can do. I went to the @altstarmagazine Awards last night to support my husband because he was nominated for male POTY (yay for him!). They started announcing Hall of Fame, and I was thinking to myself, “I wonder if I’ll ever get that.” Sure enough, @jeffreydamnit and @officialmalicemcmunn looked directly at me and announced that I was being awarded Hall of Fame!! The entire audience cheered so loud for so long!! I am still in shock and can’t believe that this is real! Thank you to everyone who supports me, and that hasn’t let me fade away into the realm of forgotten stars. I love you all. ?

Jessa Jupiter Flux

• Next up, we have trailblazer Jessa Jupiter Flux. She appeared on EroticBPM aka Raverporn and other early alt sites. Back in the days before OnlyFans, when membership sites about a specific model were called Solo Girl Sites, Jessa appeared on UndressJess.com which featured cosplay and cams before these things were a staple of alt online personas. She brought a level of content creativity and interactivity to her members that helped set the standard for future cam and fan site platforms.

No, I didn’t win Best Premium Social Media Star (that went to the incredible @stephanielove.official—deservedly so!), but I did win something even BIGGER that I certainly wasn’t expecting: a Hall of Fame award from @altstarmagazine.

That’s right. Basically, a lifetime achievement honor for a lifetime spent making alternative content.

I’ve been doing this since the day I turned legal. From posting thirst traps on my old blog, monetizing video chats, teaching myself editing software, HTML & streaming 12–15 live cams from my apartment daily. My entire life has been performance. Art. Survival. Connection.

My fans supported me through grief, breakups, addiction & creative breakthroughs. Some even stopped me this weekend in Arizona to say they’ve followed me from the beginning. I felt it in their eyes. It wrecked me (in the best way).

This work taught me how to feel beautiful. How to legitimately ACT. How to connect. Things I helped pioneer in this space have been adopted industry-wide, with no credit—but #AltStar saw me. They always saw me.

So thank you, from the deepest part of me. I never fit neatly into one particular box, but you made me a Hall of Famer anyway.

Even when I’m on HBO someday soon, I’ll still be here, holding a camera. My flesh will always be something I share. Why? Because I love it here.

Angel Beau

• Angel Beau appeared on many of the early alternative adult membership sites, her artistic and tattooed image gracing GodsGirls, DeviantNation, Zivity, BlueBlood.com, GothicSluts, BarelyEvil, and Almost Evil Girls. At a time when heavily modified altmodels did not typically get to feature dance, Angel Beau created a unique signature style of alternative Vaudeville sideshow burlesque and went on to win nearly every possible top honor for dancing, include two time Best Modern Burlesque in the AltStar Awards.

This was such a huge surprise and honestly it has taken me a minute for this to sink in. Probably imposter syndrome making me feel i am not worthy of this award.
When jeffrey announced my name for this and started reeling off all these sites i had modelled for and cammed for i had to take a min to listen to all those names. Most of which id forgotten id even worked for. Props to whoever dug deep for those!
Now ive had a little while to let it sink in, ive realized just how much ive done over the years! To be standing up there with @officialmalicemcmunn who was my first ever stripper friend. And who was also inducted this year too! Was just a dream. And also it is an honor to be up in the hall of fame with names that have inspired me since i was young. Such as @masuimimax i miss her wisdom and friendship everyday.

• Lastly, we have Malice McMunn. Malice has been an icon of altmodeling for decades. A punk rocker who lives her life as performance art, Malice helped define the very concept of altmodeling. From her wildly popular MySpace profile, to dancing at Devil’s Point and Cheetah’s, to her tattoo magazine covers, to her appearances on BlueBlood.com, GothicSluts, and BarelyEvil, to her extensive music video work, to all the cosmetics and clothing brands she has modeled, Malice has always presented her bold, unapologetic spirit in a way which has literally helped define the alt genre.

I started working in the adult entertainment industry in the late 90s and even after getting sober in 2001 I continued working as dancer/ fetish performer/ alt creator living my most authentic life and doing what I love. I still dance here and there for some events and secret celeb parties, and I still do my best to support the community. I am so happy to see how far society has come over the years with acceptance of this kind of work although, we still have a long way to go, and I worry that the pendulum may swing way back as many conflate what us adults do consensually with those who are non consensually so I will continue to advocate for this community of often misunderstood misfits thank u to @altstarmagazine @realameliag @23blackcats for giving me this #halloffame award it was totally unexpected and I still don’t have the best words for moments like this but it was very sweet of yall and ty @jeffreydamnit for presenting it to me. Romi Rain

• First up, we have Romi Rain. When Romi Rain began performing, the industry was starting to be accepting of tattooed performers, but Romi was a leader in being independent, not giving in to conformist pressure from any direction. Romi marched to the beat of her own drummer, which is what alt is all about. Early to performer-owned content, and truly owning her own brand and persona, she has helped show the way for indie success.

Killshot aka Scott Owens

• Next up, we have Killshot, also known as Scott Owens. Killshot is perhaps best known for creating Erotic BPM, also known as RaverPorn, the first explicitly alt membership site in the late 90’s. He was early to social features and his SpicePlay project helped popularize tagging adult content and pioneered the platform model of revenue sharing with models. Killshot has had an incredible influence on the whole structure of sharing and monetizing adult content, which is utilized by every premium social media platform today.

Casey Kisses

• Next up, we have Casey Kisses. With ever-changing hair color and a motorcycle club background, documented in her biopic Casey: A True Story, Casey Kisses has made a mark on the industry as both an alt and trans talent. The top trans performer on Chaturbate, Casey has helped popularize scenes of trans performers with cis women and helped break down barriers in the variety of adult production.

Ashley Fontenot

• Ashley Fontenot was one of just a handful of female photographers shooting alternative erotica in the early 2000’s heyday of altporn membership sites and one of the only ones to more widely license her work, helping to popularize the aesthetic. She was also one of the first to mix altmodels with fetish, glam, and vintage pinup.

Proxy Paige

• First up, we have Proxy Paige. At a time when most alt work was photo-based, and the alt video which existed was somewhat tentative, Proxy Paige exploded onto the screen as a performer with rave style and brightly colored hair and a love of big toys and unusual acts. Known for her wildly tattooed alt talent and her wilder situations, extreme gapes, and more, as a director, she has pushed the envelope further.

Tommy Pistol

• Next up, we have Tommy Pistol. At a time when acting in porn was at best ironic, Tommy Pistol brought genuine acting chops to the industry. He appeared first in alternative productions and, as alt tends to always lead the mainstream of the industry, his raising the bar on acting contributed to why there are so many features with excellent acting today. Tommy Pistol’s influence in bringing about this evolution can not be underestimated.

Clix (MessyHot)

• Clix is a celebrated rave promoter and photographer, known best for his colorful dessert sploshing images. A lot of his early photographic work was for EroticBPM, one of the original early alt membership sites, focused on authentic ravers and the sexy rave community. When this Awards show had a rave shoot category, Clix always had multiple nominations in it and frequent wins. Over time, Clix has branched out extensively in the sploshing community, bringing unexpected alt aesthetics and powerful color to the niche and expanding the notion of it, with his fun style.

Small Hands

• First up, we have Small Hands. At a time when the mainstream of the industry believed nobody looked at the guy in boy/girl videos, he became a sought after star. The AltPorn Awards was the first awards show to name him Male Performer of the Year, but many more accolades were to come.

Joanna Angel

• Next up, we have Joanna Angel. At a time when most alt work was photo-based, she went all in on video. Her work helped make it normative for tattooed pornstars to appear in big studio porn productions.

Amelia G

• A decade before the first alt sites graced the internet, at a time when adult media was bland with little cultural content, Amelia G had the courage to publish erotica informed by punk and science fiction and goth-industrial and fetish subcultures, breaking down the doors for a whole new genre.

Forrest Black

• Forrest Black has been a leading visionary in visual arts for alternative erotica for three decades. His design work and photography, first in print publishing, and then in the early days of the web, set the standards and aesthetics that would eventually be adopted across our scene.

Masuimi Max

• The legendary Masuimi Max was mixing burlesque and fetish and punk before altmodel was even a term. Her electrifying live performances changed expectations and she has been on more magazine covers than any other altmodel.
