Dr. Sketchy’s Los Angeles is a social club comprised of artists and art lovers who gather on a regular basis to create and celebrate art in a creatively immersive environment. The club’s main focus is the hosting of a pop-up figure-drawing cabaret that provides top-notch models, refreshments, prizes, casual networking opportunities, and artistic inspiration… all wrapped up in a theatrical package.

Our regular sessions are held the second Tuesday of every month at Titmouse, Inc. in Hollywood, and the third Sunday of every month at Studio Servitu. Special events take place at alternate locations from time to time. Artists should bring their own art supplies. Photography is not allowed. Participants must be 18+.

April Flores’ Love Toy is Canvas for Eight World-Renown Artists in Single Night Gallery Show

Hollywood, CA – Topco Sales & C. Batts FLY presents a unique, one-night-only exhibit featuring limited edition artist renditions of leading Big Beautiful Women (BBW) star April Flores’ Voluptuous CyberSkin Love Toy. Eight, world-renown, Los Angeles-based artists are designing one-of-a-kind creations, using plaster molds of the April Flores toy as their canvas. Participating artists include Axis, Carlos Batts, COOP, Jim Mahfood, Kime Buzzelli, Kozy & Dan, Misha, and Small Paul. The exhibit will take place on May 13th at La Luz de Jesus Gallery, and will be curated by Carlos Batts.

“Creative interpretations of the female anatomy are fundamental to art,” explains Carlos Batts, Curator. “Specifically, this project was inspired by the irony of Jeff Koons’ work and the playfulness of the Dunny movement, as well as by April herself. In this exhibit, April provides the blank canvas on which each artist has the opportunity to express his or her vision.”

April Flores has starred in numerous films and has been featured in countless magazines. Voted one of Fleshbot’s Crush Objects, she has a massive and rabid following within the BBW fan community. She is the first BBW star to be molded by Topco Sales.

“When Topco Sales molded April to make her toy, we knew we were breaking new ground. Partnering with her and C. Batts FLY to present this exhibit seems like a natural next step,” says Desiree Duffie, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Topco Sales. “This show provides an inspired arena in which to play with such provocative issues as beauty, sexuality, intimacy, pleasure toys and more. Known for smoking devils and outrageous monsters adorning everything from t-shirts to skate boards and album covers, COOP is an integral part of subversive LA art scene.

Jim Mahfood is a prolific comic book artist and member of the prestigious new Artsprojekt.

Kim Buzzelli combines fashion, music and witchcraft to design evocative paintings, illustrations and installations.

The mad-scientist pairing of Kozy & Dan results in unforgettable graphic designs, hip clothing and the Bunnyfish.

Misha is equally famous for her Large Eye, Japanese-inspired takes on famous figures and her brilliantly detailed tattoo art.

New Wave rocker and artist Small Paul has left his mark on countless celebrities as a highly sought after tattoo artist.

April Flores writes:

What a year it has been! 2008 was filled with lessons, wonderful new experiences, and amazement. This year I learned that you can not predict what’s going to happen and that most things are beyond our control. I also learned that great things happen every single day.

The year started off with a cherished family member being very ill. It was the absolute worst time in my life, but through prayer, faith, and so much good energy and thoughts sent by everyone around us, this family member miraculously healed! I am truly aware how delicate life is and how each day we have on earth with our loved ones is a real blessing. I learned the power of faith and that miracles do happen. I am thankful for my family member every second of every day. I also learned great strength by watching this family member’s strength.

The rest of the year was filled with such great firsts for me, all of which I am so grateful. This year I was included in my first gallery art show, I did my first scene with a guy, I got my first mainstream magazine cover on Bizarre, I was molded for the first plus sized sex toy, and I had an organ removed. I also was blessed with being able to travel a lot this year, going to one of my favorite places, NYC and also to Montreal for the first time. Another great first for me and the country was the election of Obama!!

This year I was honored to be included in some really cool projects by my friends.

I want to thank everyone who reads this blog, and to everyone who supports my projects. I feel like you are my friends and I am appreciative. I want to wish you a very happy, healthy, wonderful 2009!!! I hope the new year brings all good things!!

This is a picture from last night’s photo shoot. The shoot was nice because I felt sexy and really horny the whole time. First I used the vibrator on my clit, then slid it into my ass.
