If you know Rankin at all, it is probably as a creator of celebrity portraits. For over a quarter of a century the British photographer has snapped everyone from the Queen of England to Marilyn Manson. Now teNeues has released a hardcover coffee table anthology of his most revealing work. #NSFW is a collection of Rankin’s greatest nude photography. Over 300 pages the book sets out astonishing pictures, both playful and sexy, of some incredibly beautiful women. Rankin has a brilliant eye for striking black and white photos, but at the same time knows how to best use color in his work to really make a visual impact. Alongside the pictures of some of the best known models of modern times I’d urge readers of the book to check out his portraits of the tattooed and pierced Maria Dias and his stunning use of bondage gear and body paint.

I’m always fascinated by the possibilities that modern technologies offer to contemporary artists. While once art was reserved to the elites, both in terms of production and use, it is now accessible to all – on one side allowing also non-masters on the stage, but on the other side allowing those with the skill and talent to express themselves without the strict limitation of the rich guy of the time, and to grow your own niche of public that resonates with your tastes.

Vaughn Belak is – in this respect – a son of our times: a talented artist that, half a century ago would have had to settle for commissions or take another road entirely, and that now – instead – is allowed to show us his creativity and skill. The dark, gothic themes are brought forward with an effective use of black and colours, mixing media with no regard to academy but only to his personal twist on fairy tales and pop imagery. To be published by BlueBlood, this is a kickstarter that has the content and timing to make it under this year’s Christmas Tree.

APN backed the Kickstarter for the RazorCandi coffee table art book and we are so excited for it to come out! The book is shipping this month and backers just got a Kickstarter update with photos of RazorCandi holding the beautiful hardcover. Having loved Blue Blood magazine in print, I’m so happy to see them publishing fascinating coffee table book after fascinating coffee table book, all gorgeously produced and all with alternative subjects. RazorCandi is such an icon of alt style. I’m told that preorders for the RazorCandi coffee table art book are going to cut off soon and then you’ll have to wait months for the official bookstore on-sale, so I recommend checking it out now to not miss out. Instaxxx: A Book Of Nude Instant Photos Kickstarter

Igor from DrivenByBoredom is doing a Kickstarter of hot naked girls. Many of the girls he shoots are alternative, so you know you want to check this out. The project is called Instaxxx: A Book Of Nude Instant Photos and he shares personal stories of how he first started shooting naughty Polaroids and how the Instax technology has filled that artistic need. In addition to the book, he is offering signed Instax from Stoya and April O’Neil.

When I was 19, my girlfriend was leaving town for a month and she had an idea. This was a time before sexting and Skype so she bought me a plastic Barbie Polaroid camera and told me I could take naked photos of her before she left so that I wouldn’t cheat on her. These photos were some of the first naked photos I ever took and those early memories created a lifelong love for nude photography on instant film.

I soon started photographing all my friends, girlfriends and lovers nude on Polaroid. This was a documentation of my nascent sexuality and some of the most exciting photography I was doing (at the time I was mostly photographing bands). I switched from the Barbie cam to my mom’s old Spectra and eventually to the Polaroid 600, which I used until Polaroid stopped making Instant film. I had photographed hundreds of women nude on Polaroid and I didn’t want to stop.

RazorCandi: Coffee table art book project

That is right folks, the beautiful RazorCandi is working on a coffee table art book project, that is going to be published by BlueBlood. You can watch a video of her talking about her art (and looking hot) and see some previews from the book at her book project link.

If you are familiar with California Deathrock Art Book and you like it, you’re bound to fall in love with this one. This book is all about a voyage, if you like, through a decade of RazorCandi‘s most exquisite works of art, a collection of the most extraordinary pictures, with a lot of different styles and settings. You will get 172 pages of content with high quality pictures of the ever creative and beautiful RazorCandi, who has recently won the APN Awards for Best Altporn Membership site- Solo girl and Best Punk Shoot.

RazorCandi’s is one Kickstarter very worth checking out. For sure, you want to at least watch the video on her page and probably order the book. I don’t know what photos she will use in the book, but some of the ones below are personal favorites.

BarelyEvil: Sexy Hollywood Horror Babe Alsana Sin

Oh my! I guess they call it BarelyEvil for a reason! Some of the random food fight gore-girl stuff being shown around myspace or whatever these days is just kind of silly, but this stuff shot by Chad Michael Ward is awesome and sexy and disturbing at the same time. He brings it to a whole different level. I love his collection of photo art books and BlueBlood actually has some 95 sets shot by him available to members of their site empire. It’s really cool to be able to see all the pictures shot in a series where maybe one ended up in the book too. AltPorn should be more than just a girl with an expensive tattoo. We love the variety available on sites like Blue Blood’s BarelyEvil.

Not your average ghoul next door Alsana Sin tears her way through this bloody BarelyEvil set like a zombie through a fresh meat buffet. The blood is flying as each picture get bloodier and bloodier until there’s very little of her creamy flesh that’s not covered in gore. It wasn’t just the nakedness that excited me though trust me I really enjoyed the nakedness. The expression on her face is what really got me revved up. This is one hot woman who really enjoys being a bloody mess and it shows through with every picture in the set.
