This is our fourth year now hosting this welcoming gathering place for the alternative community. This year, we’re excited to host our event at the historic Plaza Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. This iconic venue blends vintage Rat Pack-era charm with modern edge. Built on the site of Vegas’ first train depot from 1905, The Plaza maintains its classic Vegas feel while featuring murals by renowned artists like Shepard Fairey, Faile, and D*Face. Its location at the head of the legendary Fremont Street Experience puts you steps away from Glitter Gulch, the original Las Vegas Strip with its iconic neon skyline, and tons of walking distance places to eat ranging from the award-winning Oscar’s Steakhouse to the open late Pinkbox Doughnuts inside the hotel to many more steps from its doors.

Network with community companies, creators, producers, makers, affiliates, webmasters, makeup artists, photographers, directors, stylists, etc. and their plus ones, during our Industry Days, or join us for our Fan Appreciation Day featuring our Artist Alley with exclusive demonstrations and meet-and-greets with your favorite alternative talents.

AltStar Awards

Cap off an unforgettable weekend at year fifteen of our annual AltStar Awards, celebrating excellence across the alternative culture landscape. Join us and and hundreds of the scene’s most influential creatives at Swan Dive, Downtown Las Vegas’s music-focused venue in the vibrant Arts District. Swan Dive is the perfect backdrop for our community—an Austin-born venue designed by music lovers for music lovers, priding itself on inclusivity and creative expression. With its spacious outdoor patio and wraparound balcony offering downtown skyline views, you’ll experience our awards ceremony in an authentically alternative atmosphere, just 1.7 miles from the Plaza. As always, the evening will kick off with our usual star-powered red carpet and open bar, followed by the ceremony and a special burlesque performance.

We started the AltStar Awards aka AltPorn Awards, a decade and a half ago, to recognize some of the amazingly cool creative things that are always going on but often overlooked in our artistically sexual community. The sorts of things that the mainstream industry types might not have understood or appreciated back in the day. But, more and more, they are coming around to what we’ve always enjoyed: Breaking the mold and celebrating diverse individuality, punk rock DIY attitude, ethical creative processes, counterculture influences and a tribal sense of connected supportive community.

It feels amazing that AltPorn.Net has been covering all things AltPorn for over two decades now and we always enjoy the time of year when we can expand on the recognition and appreciation that all of our creative alternative erotica friends and crushes deserve.

This year, we’ve added a Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday May 31st, which is available with a more limited ticket, for those that want to meet their favorite creators and stars, as well as enjoying the exhibits and artists, without requiring the usual industry credentials. Please be respectful.

The convention hotel (AltStar hotel room block open for reservations now!) has graciously given us a really nice space for panels this year, with a dedicated room for panel programming. Please use the contact form to send us ideas for 15 to 30 minute talks or 30 to 60 minute conversations that would be suitable and useful for the AltStar audience. We are hoping to post some video from last year’s fantastic panels soon.
