This series was shot at AVN. Every year, AVN produces a huge Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. AltStar Magazine‘s distributor Zinetastic had an exhibitor display where they gave away thousands of copies of AltStar Magazine #25 (also available in digital edition.) In addition, the Zinetastic fun included AltStar Hall of Famer Forrest Black and AltStar and GFY Hall of Famer Amelia G shooting portraits on site in one of their signature location studios. This is our fourth year now hosting this welcoming gathering place for the alternative community. This year, we’re excited to host our event at the historic Plaza Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. This iconic venue blends vintage Rat Pack-era charm with modern edge. Built on the site of Vegas’ first train depot from 1905, The Plaza maintains its classic Vegas feel while featuring murals by renowned artists like Shepard Fairey, Faile, and D*Face. Its location at the head of the legendary Fremont Street Experience puts you steps away from Glitter Gulch, the original Las Vegas Strip with its iconic neon skyline, and tons of walking distance places to eat ranging from the award-winning Oscar’s Steakhouse to the open late Pinkbox Doughnuts inside the hotel to many more steps from its doors.

Network with community companies, creators, producers, makers, affiliates, webmasters, makeup artists, photographers, directors, stylists, etc. and their plus ones, during our Industry Days, or join us for our Fan Appreciation Day featuring our Artist Alley with exclusive demonstrations and meet-and-greets with your favorite alternative talents.

AltStar Awards

Cap off an unforgettable weekend at year fifteen of our annual AltStar Awards, celebrating excellence across the alternative culture landscape. Join us and and hundreds of the scene’s most influential creatives at Swan Dive, Downtown Las Vegas’s music-focused venue in the vibrant Arts District. Swan Dive is the perfect backdrop for our community—an Austin-born venue designed by music lovers for music lovers, priding itself on inclusivity and creative expression. With its spacious outdoor patio and wraparound balcony offering downtown skyline views, you’ll experience our awards ceremony in an authentically alternative atmosphere, just 1.7 miles from the Plaza. As always, the evening will kick off with our usual star-powered red carpet and open bar, followed by the ceremony and a special burlesque performance.

Shot at the biggest AltStar Expo yet, this is a gallery of photos of the exhibits and media halls and just fun convention candids. 2025 marked the expansion to four days of fun. The first two days of the AltStar Expo were Industry only and then there was the brand new Fan Appreciation Day, followed by the AltStar Awards on the last day.

In addition to three days packed with panels and demos from top industry experts, the AltStar Expo has an exhibitor hall with booths from content and toy brands in the alt space, alongside carefully curated purveyors of everything deliciously alternative, from gothic jewelry to 3d printed kink, and, of course, on the Fan Appreciation Day, tons of wonderful altmodels. Attendees were able to shop for hard-to-find unique toys in person and get information about content creation and marketing and streaming. In addition, a lot of collaborative media was created right on the show floor. Thank you to Wandering Bard, Joystick, BlueBlood, Zinetastic, AltErotic, Gothurbate, Dan Eternal, Sinister Salon, Colorful Cook, Alchemist Echidna, Erotic Sky, Pleasure Print Studios, Paladin Pleasure Sculptors, Pleasure Forge, and everyone else who made the AltStar Expo exhibits and media halls such a fun and interesting success.

ASN Magazine has announced the nominees for the ASN Awards presented by Wifey and Whispers Las Vegas.

We are happy to get to share that AltStar Magazine has been nominated for Best Adult Mag and you can vote for us at this link. The Urban X Awards, presented by Bad Dragon, have announced the nominees for 2025 event. Festivities kick off August 15 and the UrbanX Awards will be announced live on Sunday night August 17, hosted by Isiah Maxwell, Lacy Lennon, and Ebony Mystique, at the Regent Theater in Los Angeles. Originally called the Urban Spice Awards, film director Giana Taylor founded the event and still runs it today. Over time, it has expanded to encompass multiple days, including a lingerie party, a pink and white-themed party, and more. The Regent Theater is a historic location, with gothic architecture, and a storied history of over a hundred years, having first opened in 1914. Tickets are still available and industry discounts can be applied for.

Of course, everyone here is very excited to be nominated in two categories. AltStar Magazine is nominated for Most Popular Industry Magazine and the AltStar Awards are nominated for Most Popular Industry Awards Show. Our panel of experts will discuss their personal journeys to get where they are today, share anecdotes, and answer questions from the audience. Topics covered will relate to why community matters, how you can create community in varied professional spheres, stories about positive experiences with fans and peers, tips on how to encourage community among your fans and with one another, and more.

ANNA CHERRY and RICHARD RALL

Anna Cherry, and her partner Richard Rall are AVN nominated 2023 favorite couple, and now Best Cam Duo for AltStar Awards. They create & run a nerdy show called TableTopless (criticalhole.com) that features many guests and an active cast of cam stars playing tabletop RPGs.

XRCO Announces Nominees for 2025 XRCO Awards

The X-Rated Critics Organization has announced the nominees for the XRCO Awards. XRCO has been giving these awards for four decades. (You read that right, I said forty years.) The panel of judges is made up of currently working adult movie critics, both those who write for magazines and for internet publications.
