AltStar Awards nightclub candids pics by Jay’s Playhouse

In addition to three days packed with panels and demos from top industry experts, the AltStar Expo has an exhibitor hall with booths from content and toy brands in the alt space, alongside carefully curated purveyors of everything deliciously alternative, from gothic jewelry to 3d printed kink, and, of course, on the Fan Appreciation Day, tons of wonderful altmodels. Attendees were able to shop for hard-to-find unique toys in person and get information about content creation and marketing and streaming. In addition, a lot of collaborative media was created right on the show floor. The evening celebrated Issue 59 of Gothic Beauty Magazine, North America’s largest and longest-running gothic publication, now in its 25th year, with a red carpet, giveaways, and a strict gothic, industrial, and fetish dress code that the attendees took as a personal challenge they definitely rose to. The result was a parade of stunning looks: gleaming PVC from head to toe, intricate corsetry, fishnet and leather layering, elaborate body paint, and the kind of bold, confident style that makes subculture endlessly compelling.
