National Plushie Day sneaks up every October 28th and, honestly, it’s one of those just because holidays that deserves way more hype. Hankey’s Toys: Slipping on Banana Dildo is A-Peeling

I love my Hankey’s Toys Banana Dildo. Girthy, but still suitable for vaginal use. Well, the small, which I have, is, and I think the medium would be too. The small is fairly banana sized. But this is Hankey’s Toys we are talking about, so of course this one goes up to an XL, with an insertable length of eleven inches, and a circumference of more than ten inches, so definitely goes up to great anal sizes as well. I suppose having giant Banana Dildos makes the banana-for-scale concept absurdist. (Photo series idea!) I love the way the banana peel is shaped with a nice clit tickler, which is functional, but looks organic in the sculpt. Opening Up Gothic Beauty Box 56

Gothic Beauty Magazine was one of the first publications that got me interested in alternative style. I love that they are still publishing and curating lifestyle Gothic Beauty Boxes. Box 56 has items from brands I know like Lip Service stickers, Dark Asteroid Pretty Corpse Paint, and a gorgeous LashyDoodle (goth) spring palette. Plus I love discovering new brands, like the Spooky Spirits Lab coffeehouse scent makes me want to drink lattes while reading the magazine in a cemetery. Speaking of the magazine, I was delighted and amused this issue to see famous altporn producer Amelia G interviewing famous alt pornstar Jessie Lee about her black-clad goth wedding in Las Vegas. With not a single mention of porn anywhere. The wedding feature is beautiful and I recognized a lot of faces in it. Gothic Beauty is always an inspirational and, well, wholesome read.

In 2007, Clix and Carson launched Lingerieve as a collaborative effort to bring a spicy fashion element to the Phoenix rave scene. This year the event turns old enough to vote! Clix MessyHot has been throwing successful rave events for decades. He has also taken home more AltPorn Awards (aka AltStar Awards) Best Rave wins than any other producer. In 2022, he won Best Photographer for his signature cake and slime sploshing work with cute raver girls and, in 2023, was inducted into the AltStar Hall of Fame.

Rockstar Wigs: Dramatic Hairstyles

Rockstar Wigs is the brainchild of artist Charles Reger. Although his personal work may contain themes like punks making out, his previous design work was apparently surprisingly children’s activity books. His Rockstar Wigs are really a hit though. He saw a dearth of dramatic wigs in the marketplace and set out to do something about it, designing and manufacturing wigs intended for cosplay and drag and similar looks. These designs are popular options for cam models. The wigs are shipped from Houston, Texas, so they arrive quickly for US-based people. They are all heat styling-friendly, meaning one can use a curling iron or flat iron to get the right face-framing. The ability to change up persona with a good lace front wig can be great for switching up a stream or just celebrating a theme with one’s camily.

Today, the angels sang! Hankey’s Toys just dropped a new XTRA collection. I have long been an admirer of the incredibly beautiful sculpts from Hankey’s Toys. As art pieces, they can be really stunning. I especially liked their very unique Seahorse sculpt, which won an AltStar Award and which we featured in a layout with Jen Hexxx in these pages, so I was very happy when they rolled out a smaller version of that as one of the designs in their first XTRA collection. The third and newest XTRA collection is so beautiful. It is chock full of fantastical sculpts. The Dildos & Dragons and The Cobra are particularly intricate designs. You’ll have to enjoy a little texture, but I definitely do, and I’m so thrilled to be able to use these as vagina-insertables. An extra nice feature of the XTRA line is that it is very unusual to be able to customize smaller silicone toys. These delights from Hankey’s, however, allow one to select from 25 colors and 4 levels of firmness, and even whether or not to sport a metallic sheen.

RIP AltStar Hall of Famer Masuimi Max

When Masuimi Max was inducted into the AltStar Hall of Fame, AltPorn wrote, “The legendary Masuimi Max was mixing burlesque and fetish and punk before altmodel was even a term. Her electrifying live performances changed expectations and she has been on more magazine covers than any other altmodel.”

When someone passes away, people often say they were one of a kind, but Masuimi Max truly was one of a kind. Her contributions to the alt genre are so important that she genuinely helped shape the vibrant space where alt now flourishes. I personally enjoyed working with her, even at her whirlwind most force of nature danger level, maybe especially then. She won so many AltStar Awards and even performed on our event stage. Her excellent advice helped us decide to move the AltStar Awards to Las Vegas.

Mainstream coverage of her untimely passing is all “she was published by Playboy and Maxim and here is a hot photo of her” which is fine, but her accomplishments were so much more than just that. Festivities included contests and fashion shows from both Liquid Red Lingerie and Dan Miga Latex.

Nightlife impresario Noir Halo says attendees of her huge Liquid Red Kink Ball Detroit event loved the Hankey’s Toys they saw. Winners of the Flogging and Spanking Contest took home some very impressive toys from the premium toy maker, who provided prizes. Hankey’s Toys are known for being very fetish-friendly and handmade from only the finest materials.

A nearly sold-out crowd packed Endgame in Mesa with a vibe that was so thick you’d need a knife to cut it. Everybody was dressed their best, as ravers from multiple generations caught the groove. There was something for everybody when it comes to dance music preferences, as so many genres were represented. Lady Faith delivered an absolutely astounding performance that left the crowd in awe. Atomic Babies unleashed an amazing live performance that drew out some serious old-school heads who hadn’t been to an event in years.”

How to attend the AltPorn Awards / AltStar Awards, Presented by Bad Dragon

If you are going to attend the AltPorn Awards, aka AltStar Awards, presented by Bad Dragon, you must RSVP to be on the list. VIP guest list tickets are free to nominees. If you are not attending, but you are nominated, please let us know who should accept on your behalf if you win.

To RSVP or to assign someone to potentially accept for you, an informal message via our contact form where you say what your industry name is and what you are nominated for and that you would like to attend is all that is necessary. Prior year winners and nominees are also welcome to RSVP for the VIP guest list. If you wish to attend the VIP portion of the night, please RSVP as soon as possible.

If you wish to attend the red carpet portion of the evening, but are not nominated, the best way to get on the guest list is as a +1 of someone who is nominated or on the guest list of one of our sponsors. Doors also open to fan and friend attendees at 10pm and all are welcome to see the show.

Location is Sinister, 1652 N Cherokee Ave, Hollywood, California 90028. Lyft and Uber cars are very plentiful in this area, as it is right in the heart of Hollywood. Red carpet VIP pre-party starts at 6:30pm, the event opens to the public at 10pm, followed by the AltPorn Awards, with a special midnight fetish burlesque performance and after party.
