How to get stories posted about your cool stuff

If you have a one-off announcement, like a DVD release or event that you think would be interesting to our readers, use our story submission form. If you regularly send out PR, put info@altporn.net on your list.

If you run a site with regular content updates, the best way to get your updates on our site is to provide an RSS feed (or ATOM, etc). It is much easier for us to post stories we gather this way, and we can’t consistenly post updates about sites that don’t offer an RSS feed.

If you’re not sure what an RSS feed is, or don’t know how to implement one on your site, talk to us. We’re happy to offer advice and do provide consulting services if necessary.


How to get your link included in the directory

Submit your link! We’ll review it and consider it for inclusion. We don’t do link “exchanges,” but if we like your work and think it will be of interest to our visitors, we’ll be happy to list you.


How to get your site/DVD/book/etc. reviewed

First, drop us an email with some info about what you want reviewed: sometimes we get requests for reviews of stuff that isn’t really appropriate for the site, and we don’t want you to waste time sending us stuff only to have it turned down. If it looks like something out readers would be interested in, though, we’ll let you know and send you shipping info if necessary.

Please note that we make every effort to review things in a timely fashion, but as we do this in our spare time, there may be some delay between when we receive the materials and when a review goes up.


How to be a Featured Model/Photographer/Artist

If you’re interested in being featured on our site, please send us some information about yourself, including examples of your work. We’ll look it over and let you know.


Banners and Banner Exchanges

If you’re interested in doing banner exchanges, let us know. We’ll look over your site and get back to you. Please note that we can only run banners that are leaderboard (728×90) or skyscraper (120×600) sizes — we don’t run 468×60 banners, although we can provide you with one for your site.

If you’re just looking to show your support for us, that’s great! We have a number of banners of different sizes for you to choose from.


Advertising Info and Rates

We offer banner and text advertising on the site. Rates are low to keep things accessible for independent organizations.

We have leaderboard and skyscraper banner slots for the following costs:

  • Leaderboard (top of page): $50 per month
  • Skyscraper (right sidebar): $25 per month

Banners appear on all pages, sharing impressions with the rest of the banners in rotation. Our banner ads are handled directly; contact us if you’re interested in purchasing space.

Text ads are purchased through AVNads, and are available for 1 day ($1), 1 week ($3), and 1 month ($9) runs. CPC rates are as low as $0.01, far below the industry average.
