It’s time for our mid month QuantCast installment of our ongoing AltPorn A List traffic and popularity analysis study. QuantCast has been doing fairly constant improvements to their data gathering and reporting technology and it’s getting to a pretty impressive stage at this point. From our experience, looking at the stats we have available to us, I’m starting to trust their measures even more than Alexa lately. But, we still feel that the more sources of data you have, the better picture you will be able to create when it comes to understanding where things are really at.

Over the last month, we went ahead and added the QuantCast measuring code to our own site, AltPorn.net and had ourselves qualified as a quantified publisher, which gives a much more direct and more accurate measure of traffic for analysis. We added ourselves to the chart, just for good measure, and based on other logs and stats I have access too, it seems that QuantCast is still in the neighborhood of about 15 to 20 percent low. However, that’s not a bad margin of error comparing traffic analysis tools to internal stats and logs. It looks like Deviant Nation has done the same and embedded their QuantCast measuring tool to their site as well, as they are now also listed as a Quantified Publisher. It also seems to have popped them up a number of spots to a more accurate accounting of their position. I do find it interesting that as a Quantified Publisher, our rank for APN is lower than NaughtyFlipside, but our Estimated Monthly Visitors is actually 14,000 visitors higher, with a similar ranking anomaly occurring for Deviant Nation, who would fall in position nine, rather than thirteen, if we sorted by estimated visitors.

Movers and shakers, NaughtyFlipside moved up six positions, although this is to be expected with a brand new site from an established pro adult company like Naughty America. BlueBlood’s BarelyEvil took the number two spot, so Blue Blood still has three sites in the top five. According to the QuantCast charts, CrazyBabe traffic seems to be very volatile, coming in huge bursts and then dropping back off, so they move around a bit in position, but they seem to be settling a bit for the time being. Although GodsGirls did improve their traffic slightly, they still fell a couple spots, being edged out by the gains of EroticBPM and NaughtyFlipside. We consider inserting ourselves in the chart to be a little artificial, so I won’t ding them for falling the full three spots listed on the chart below. Otherwise, sites at the back end of the chart do seem to be having trouble keeping up with the leaders.

In a followup to the previous sexy Heather Hell update, RazorDolls posted a hot thirteen minute threeway sex scene, featuring Heather, super tattooed goth girl Amber, and a giant rabbit. I guess Harvey is in porn now, I wonder what Jimmy Stewart would think.

It is a really hot scene too, considering the bunny head kind of limits activity a bit, but the girls make up for it with action of their own. What is it with video AltPorn where they always recruit cool people and make them clean up stupid looking for the action? This doesn’t even seem like it was filmed in order. I guess she had to pretty much retire from the video industry to actually look the way she wanted to, but I think she’s WAY hotter now.

Video industry AltPorn just kind of pisses me off. It’s a mockery of the actually cool Alt scene websites that actually do a good job featuring super hot bonafide alternative people. Maybe they just made a mistake teasing me with an I don’t give a fuck punkrock girl and then giving me clearance rack cleanup. Gia is a cutie either way, but damn.

Some sites are good about listing photo credits for their photo sets and some seem to only list credits if they are very impressed with the photographer. Historically, we at APN have usually not bothered to list photo credits since the information was sporadic at best, but more and more sites are making that information available. I like to know who created my favorite images, but I don’t know how common that interest is. Should we make more of an effort to report who shot the photo sets we report on or is in not really important to you the reader?

Here are the statistics for the August installment of our continuing AltPorn A-List Alexa traffic ranking study. Big winners this month are NaughtyFlipside, moving up seven spots, followed by Blue Blood’s punk site BarelyEvil, which rose a couple of spots. Entering the list at healthy spot number eight is Blue Blood’s fetish/alt latex site RubberDollies. Most everything else stayed steady or slid a bit. PunkPinups surprisingly seems to have fallen to the bottom of the list, despite what seems to be a fair amount of effort on their part.

I’d like to address incorrect assertions about the recent QuantCast statistical addition to our regular Alexa traffic and site popularity study. “Anony Mouse” has not so boldly anonymously called the data gathered into question, asserting that the Blue Blood statistics were somehow aggregated in some way as to appear as though their overall footprint in this genre is very large. What puzzles me about this accusation is that the statistics are right there for anybody to look up. There was absolutely no aggregation of the data of the rankings in any way and there is nothing hidden from public fact checking.

Blue Blood’s overall footprint in this genre is in fact very large, larger than I had previously realized. So, if I had aggregated the statistics and rolled together Blue Blood ranking statistics, their actual QuantCast rank would have been on the very top of the chart, ringing in at precisely 4,465, with an impressive estimated monthly traffic (EMV) result of 379,471. But, that’s not how the study was done. If it had been, Blue Blood would in fact have topped the chart, being sizably more popular that SuicideGirls.com even.

It is also clear that Anony Mouse doesn’t understand what a networked membership site really is, so I think it’s best to explain. A membership in Naughty Flipside actually also automatically gets the member additional access to every site in the Naughty America family of sites, such as Naughty Office, Naughty Bookworms, My Friends Hot Mom, etc. Thus, it is a network membership site. However, Naughty Flipside is the only site that Naughty America does that really truly fits in the AltPorn genre. Some people here at AltPorn.net do enjoy some of the nerdy girl content on Naughty America’s Naughty Bookworms, but it’s not something we’d consider totally in the AltPorn genre. These rankings are done on a site by site basis, for each site being measured, not the overall network.

GodsGirls’ parent company NicheBucks, on the other hand, doesn’t even include GodsGirls in their affiliate program, let alone their network of sites. So, as a member, you would not get any additional membership to AuntJudys.com, OlderWomen.com, BigOlderWomen.com, OfficeGals.com, Twinks.com, or even FullBush.com. So, even if we were measuring the traffic and popularity of networked membership sites, instead of the individual sites we actually are measuring, counting the overall NicheBucks site portfolio wouldn’t make any sense.

Business wise, EroticBPM, formerly RaverPorn could be considered to be connected to the Spiceplay site, which was also in our study until it went on hiatus, as well as FatalBeauty for that matter, but they too are not networked as far as membership goes. This still does mean that Killshot could be considered to have a decently large footprint within this genre though.

Although they are still counted and measured individually, Blue Blood does actually network the memberships for each of their sites listed in this AltPorn multi-girl site study. The statistics were not aggregated in any way, but a membership in any one of their sites on that chart, such as Blue Blood or BarelyEvil automatically grants access to all their other sites on the chart, such as RubberDollies and GothicSluts. The four sites they have on that chart don’t even comprise all their alt-site properties, but all their sites are in this genre. I just happened to mention in my last post that Blue Blood seemed to be pretty big, and really, they clearly are. Nothing was skewed or spun or aggregated or fudged at all.

No one system of gauging internet traffic and popularity is wholly perfect, so we’ve decided to add some more data points to our ongoing study of AltPorn site popularity and traffic. In addition to out monthly Alexa charts, we’ve decided to add mid month QuantCast charts for our A-list sites. QuantCast works very similarly to Alexa, although some people argue that it is slightly less susceptible to being gamed by sites attempting to bump up their ranks through trickery. I’m not sure it is any more or less accurate, but I do feel that when all the statistics are taken as a whole, the true patterns do become more clear.

QuantCast ranks sites from most popular to least, much like Alexa, so the site with the lowest number rank is the closest to being the top most popular. QuantCast also projects a lot of other interesting data about the demographics of the visitors to each site, but we’ll get into more of that later. I’ve included their estimated monthly unique visitors (EMV) stats, although from looking at our own versus their projection, their projected monthly unique visitors looks to be consistently only about 20% of the real monthly unique visitors, so I would take those numbers as relative, rather than literal.

There don’t seem to be any huge surprises in this site ranking chart, although Deviant Nation seems to do remarkably better in a current Alexa ranking than they seem to do in the QuantCast rankings. Another thought that occurred to me looking at this is that given the fact that GothicSluts.com, BarelyEvil.com, RubberDollies.com, BlueBlood.com, and BlueBlood.net are all actually Blue Blood, they really are the other 900 lb. gorilla in the room, more than I had previously realized.

Naughty Flipside is at it again, this time featuring stylish altstar Roxy Deville leading the way in a dirty food fetish inspired kitchen foursome with Victoria Sin, Tommy Pistol, and Alex Gonz. I think it’s really interesting that you can do AltPorn style and makeup and styling on different girls and some can really pull it off and others don’t do quite as good a job of it. Roxy looks hot, Victoria needs a little help, but they fuck like pros and make a hot scene together with the guys.

There seems to be a style rift between AltPorn websites and AltPorn videos and I really feel like Naughty Flipside is a fine example of what the video side has to offer, content wise, all wrapped up in a pretty feature rich interactive website.

Speaking of sweet asses, Naughty Flipside just added a great new episode with two of our favorite great ass having crush objects, Jade Starr and Ariel X! Jade and Ariel get all dressed up to go out and then just decide to stay in and give Jade’s strap-on a good work out.
