AltPorn.net has gotten a lot of mail from people who miss our AltPorn Traffic and Rankings stories, so I’ve been invited back for another addition. This installment covers the QuantCast Estimated Monthly Visitors metrics. Quantcast has earned itself the reputation as being the most accurate traffic analysis tool available to the general public and is widely accepted as being far less gamable than other popular measures. QuantCast has changed their rankings reporting mechanism since my last traffic study installment and now only reports statistical numerical ranking measurements for sites that actually include their ‘Quantified’ measurement tool directly in their code. However, their Estimated Monthly Visitors statistics are still available for all. EMV is a good stat, as it gives a realistic feel for how many visitors a site is really getting in an average month, so that is what we will be using. We’ve tried to compile as complete a site list as we can, although we do exclude solo girls sites. If you have sites you feel should be included, please contact us and make your suggestions. For example, we debated the inclusion of Zivity, contact us if you have an opinion either way.
You will notice the addition of a few new AltPorn sites, some of which are doing phenomenally well, such as My Emo Bitch and Amateur Emo Girls. These sites reflect the recent popularity of ‘ex-girlfriend’ sites in online adult. They operate on the pretense that angry boyfriends upload embarrassing naked pictures of their former girlfriends for everybody to see. It’s depressing that this sub-genre is as popular as it is, but it goes to show that being popular doesn’t always mean being cool or good. These sites should still be included as they do reflect a realistic assessment of what people are looking at these days though. You may also notice APN has made a few adjustments to the AltPorn A-List. Inactive sites like RazorDolls are being removed. RazorDolls was a fun and sexy site, but it hasn’t updated in years. It was a good example of the AltPorn genre, but sending people there to join a dead site seemed wrong and/or unfair. We’ll hold out hope RD gets back on it’s feet, but for now it joins the ranks of ManicJane, FatalBeauty, SpicePlay, CityKittie, PornForPunks, and all the other dead AltPorn sites that once had interesting alternative content we’ve enjoyed.
These statistics are best evaluated as relative, rather than absolute. If you feel your favorite site gets more visitors, then consider that all sites measured probably get more visitors, as they are all measured with the same criteria. For example, judging by our own internal stats measures AltPorn.net gets an average of 101,000 unique visitors a month, but QuantCast only counts 57,868, and we’re actually Quantified. EroticBPM posted another hot set shot at their recent anniversary Lingerieve event. This time adorable hot bodied young Ziggy climbs all over the bar while peeling off her already skimpy party outfit. What I like most about this set is that she’s obviously having a great time, smiling and playing while still looking so hot. She playfully tests how many colorful bar straws she can put in her panties, she plays with the shot glasses over her excitedly tight little nipples, she messes around with the ice box equipment and the whole time you can see he’s laughing and teasing. She makes the whole party seem like it would be even more fun. The photos are very nicely done too, mixing artful composition and still capturing the heat. EroticBPM doesn’t update a lot, but they have been putting up some great stuff, especially when you consider how affordable their memberships still are. A standard $19.95 membership gets you 90 days instead of the regular 30 you’d get elsewhere.

Sexy fun APN member Uzi Love was on hand for EroticBPM’s anniversary celebration and Lingerieve party. And these pics make me even more sad that I missed it. She got the party started early, getting naked in the bathroom and cooling that hot little ass in the sink. I can’t imagine how warm dance clubs in Arizona must get. I like how the colors in these add to the party mood without overpowering the series and distracting from Uzi’s rockin’ body and she just looks great. This whole series is really hot and I had a hard time picking out a sample to share. You really should go see them all for yourself on EroticBPM. They are a really affordable option (as little as $5.75 a month) and they have been adding some really sexy stuff to their collection. They promise more party shots soon and we’re looking forward to them all.

EroticBPM, formerly known as RaverPorn, is one of the oldest altporn sites around and they really helped shape what was good about alt. It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years! And, to celebrate the milestone on August 22nd they are inviting everybody to a lingerie themed rave! A lot of their hottest girls will be there, along with some great music and much more. Sercnm has the cutest infectious smile. I love that Clix chose to shoot her graffiti style lower back tattoo in front of a graffiti wall, plus she has Hello Kitty ink. Her silver and gold outfit looks ready to dance the night away. Her bio says she likes music with names like jumpstyle and gabber. I have no idea what jumpstyle or gabber is, but dropping those terms makes me think she must be very hip. (It also makes me consider making up terms for types of music I like.) EroticBPM also has a behind the scenes video which is shaky and small but gives interesting insight into what a shoot is like and Sercnm’s smiling personality comes through adorable.

I really like the look of this EroticBPM set of cute little Bonnie. Porn tries to emulate the hot gilr in fishnets being bad in a graffiti covered alley, but it usually comes off as retarded, but if you shoot a real bad girl in a real alley behind a read smokeshop, you can get a really good looking set. Also, reading the flamewar between Bonnie and Clix in the EroticBPM forum is hilarious.

Sexy Skyetastic is exactly the kind of girl I love EroticBPM for. Free spirited, artistically minded, beautiful, young, fit, hot, and frequently naked. I just love their high energy PYT’s. I’ve never been to a rave in the desert myself, but seeing this makes me want to take a trip so much more. Also, EroticBPM is now one of the least expensive Alt sites, membership wise, and they have a great full featured community.

Has anyone ever gotten fit with a Wii fit, or is it just to lure hardbodied young girls over to your place so you can watch them hula challenge? Idealistic concepts get thrown around a lot in the world of AltPorn, ethical standards, feminist ideals, creative freedom, participant rights, standards of respect, etc. and a lot of the sites that have been around a while do deserve their merit badges in these categories, some more than others. Recently, Killshot of EroticBPM shared some of his thoughts on the perception of ethics in altporn and we’re happy to have the opportunity to share his insights here too. I’m looking forward to some of the likely discussion of some of the issues he brings up, so please, we’d like to hear your thoughts as well.

This got me thinking about ethics in porn and the perception of Altporn being more ethical than mainstream porn.
When I started this site, I did not sit down and think about ethics. It was just a creative project started from a silly idea. There was no plan with rules and a code of conduct, but as a person with strong personal ethics and ideals, what would become my full time job and business would be a direct reflection of my ethics.
Aside from their appearance, how I represented the models would arguably become one of the biggest marketing gimmicks for the alt porn industry. However, at the time it was more out of necessity than any big ethical choice.
I found rave & club girls attractive, I figured other people found them attractive, and in building a porn site around a community based on that scene. It only made sense to let the girls express themselves and let them be who they were in the photos. Girls who had any modeling experience found it refreshing to not need to take out their piercings, cover their tattoos and wear stupid outfits.
Along with this came models ability to choose how much or how little they wanted to show.
The little known ethical choice I soon made in connection with this was paying models the same no matter how much or how little they decided to display. The girl who doesn’t spread her legs gets the same amount as the girl who has anal sex with her boyfriend. This ensured that models were never being coerced into doing something they were not comfortable with, simply because they needed or wanted the money.
The expressive freedom and choice enjoyed by the models created content that was appealing to not just men but also women, and not just women, but feminists. Getting the seal of approval from feminists was not too common in the porn industry and the media loved this angle. Women were taking off their clothes because they wanted to express themselves, not because they were troubled young drug addicts being coerced into doing unspeakable things. Thus, altporn became ethical porn. Or so it appeared.
As the altporn scene began to take shape, appearing feminist was a priority among new sites and any females involved became the face of new sites with male partners taking less public roles. I think that people felt it was essential in order to get press and credibility. Oddly, it seemed the sites which were actually run by women got less attention for being feminist because they didn’t get involved in the contest of running around declaring that they too are women. I too failed to play this game and probably lost out on some attention because of it.
As droves of amateur models came out to participate in these altporn sites, many quickly found that their experiences varied widely with each site having its own set of rules, expectations, pay rates, even penalties. Many models somehow expected that a good experience on one alt site would equal a good experience on another alt site. Alt porn it turned out, was not homogeneous.
With alt porn growing closer to mainstream porn just as alternative subculture finds its way into mainstream culture. The importance of appearing feminist has died off. Instead, more and more hardcore alt is making an appearance and more sites are being started purely as a business choice and less as a DIY project.
When it is no longer a collaboration between model, photographer, and creator. The model simply becomes a product. This is not inherently bad, but it leaves far more opportunity for ethics to be thrown out in favor of maximum profit.
The same booking agent that got an unwilling Michelle Avanti to do a 75 man bukakke scene 2 weeks into her career could tomorrow be pressuring a fresh alt model to do a gangbang scene for an alt film.
At this point, what even defines alt?
I honestly don’t know.
Lux Alptraum said goodbye to alt on fleshbot last year. Maybe she is right, but Ebpm isn’t going anywhere yet. So get your altporn here like it’s 1999!
I’ve continued to make what I feel are important ethical choices over the years, like not selling out to a mainstream company because I didn’t think it would be fair to the models, and even today deciding to keep my pay rates the same despite rates falling through the floor on numerous other sites.
I have a feeling that the other good alt webmasters I know are not going to change their ethics, but new up and coming models should be aware that Alt does not automatically mean ethical, it does not automatically mean feminist, and just like in mainstream porn, you should do your research. Separate the good from the bad, and choose who you work with carefully.
