BareMaidens: Elven Watcher

324

The fantasy genre allows for ample margins when it comes to playing with stereotypes. Once the basic staples are set, an author can fool around them quite a bit while still guaranteeing immediate recognition by the public. Elves, in the mind of most fantasy aficionados, are tall, beautiful beings, with long flowing hair, pointy ears, elegant clothing and fond of the bow and arrow.

Veagola is some, but not all of these things, making her truly elven, and yet non-stereotypical. She is, for one, quite beautiful, with intense green eyes; she is slim and light in build, as an elf should be; she has pointy ears and wields a bow. And yet, she differs from the typical elf: she is clean shaven, not a single hair on her head; she doesn’t wear a silky gown flowing to the wind, but a practical hunting robe with a modest ring-mail, with camping equipment dangling from her belt and a horn to signal nearby troops.

There’s a tone of rough believability in her that makes it even more sexy when she finally gets back to her lodge and undresses herself to relax on a cup of herbal tea. There’s something in the pictures that makes her feel real, fleshy, smelling of leather and wet earth and therefore incredibly hot.
