RazorCandi: A Bordello Full of Art

151

It is way too easy, when dealing with Alternative Models, to overlook the amount of talent that it’s required to produce a great set. We focus easily on the most, well, let’s say “showy” aspects of the model, but models as talented as RazorCandi have all that it takes to bring us great quality sets like Bordello Beauty.

Makeup, dresses (and un-dresses 🙂 ), location, lights, poses. A set is much more than getting naked in front of a camera, it’s creating a distinct imagery in the mind of the viewer through a series of specific aesthetic choices – which is, after all, one of the possible definitions of visual art – that are made often by the model itself. Almost everything is a way for the model to express herself.

It’s sets like these that thrill me, whenever I find myself to wonder on the fictional character presented in the set or the model itself, to guess the depth of both, and enjoy my fantasies grow on the hint given by the pictures. It’s great to know RazorCandi is working to produce her own Coffee Table Book. It’s totally deserved, if you ask me, and it could also be a good reason for me to buy also a coffee table 🙂

Razor Candi writes:

With my set Bordello Beauty I wanted to try an avant-garde style meets French harlot plus a sprinkle of Tim Burton inspiration. I had a lot of fun experimenting with this set as it’s in the style that I enjoy – something I like to call “artcore”. Plus it’s always nice to put all my lovely Wish List items to use rather than letting them collect dust so I had a grand time fusing different items together that I’ve received over the years and coming up with this interesting look.
