Roche years ago in a copy of Blue Blood, back when it was a print publication, back when finding that sort of material was nearly impossible, back when I felt like I was the only one who liked the things I liked. It’s finally official. The next Internet Explorer and operating system from Microsoft will have RSS functionality integrated, thus finally opening the way for mass RSS penetration. It’s time for marketers to wake up an embrace RSS as a standard communicational channel.

I am consistently surprised at how few adult webmasters are utilizing XML-based syndication technologies like RSS, especially in this genre, where your customers tend to be on the tech-savvy side. RSS is an extremely easy way to keep all of your audiences (customers, PR outlets, etc) aware of content updates and important news, and getting a feed going on your site is really easy (if your tech folks know what they’re doing, at least). Very little of the content featured on this site is not distributed via RSS.

Up until this point, you could sorta make the argument that utilizing RSS wasn’t essential, because about 90% of the general computer-using market didn’t know jack squat about it. This announcement, however, ensures that RSS and related technologies will achieve mass-market penetration in short order. Webmasters who do not start leveraging RSS will be at a severe disadvantage in terms of marketing and audience interaction.

I must admit that I’m a little disheartened by this. The success Burning Angel has had as an independent entity has been one of the best examples of the potential of subculture erotica. Here’s hoping that her artistic vision is not altered, and that she doesn’t decide to change her stage name to a poorly-spelled version of a fervently independent musician.

Rion Vernon’s Pin-Up Toons : Fleshbot

I’ve been to this site before, but I was reminded of how awesome it was by this post on Fleshbot. Rion Vernon does what is so far my favorite pinup art, featuring characters who are alternately innocent, playful, and sinister — and always super duper sexy.

Sometimes you get arrogant, and think you’re all “tied in” and know everything that’s going on, and something comes along and smacks your ass to remind you that you dunno shit. And sometimes that ass-smack is really AWESOME.

So it is with Bob Coulter’s Bad Girls Hotel, a very exciting online gallery that comes off as a cross between a Rob Zombie video and a hentai game. Shot at the Carlton Arms Hotel in NY, NY, Coulter’s work is alternately funny, silly, scary, and sexy, sometimes all at once. Like Burning Angel, it bleeds NYC.
