So, a few months ago I got wind about a potentially kickass site that was all cosplay specific. YAY. So I thought.
I applied and was accepted. They said they were happy to hear about my set idea and loved it.
Today, I was contacted by one of the owners or coordinators or whatever, and all was going well about a discussion for finding a photographer since funkatron has been so busy lately... Then, he looks over my application. Apparently because I own GGO, it's a competing site and they have some bullshit clause about not working for competition. *steams*
I spend 20 minutes showing logic as to how we truly aren't competition and that we would even recommend them as the alternative if someone were wanting more cosplay. GGO's cosplay content accounts for MAYBE 1/10 of all of our content. Yes, we both cater to geeks, but their site is MUCH more niche specific, whereas with us, you can see cosplay, D&D girls, girls with comic books, etc.
My major seriously pissed off moment was when it hit me that they OBVIOUSLY didn't read my fucking application, strung me along for 3 1/2 goddamn months, and then FINALLY when I get excited to work with them soon, they pretty much say "Oh, fuck you, you weren't important enough to actually pay attention to long enough to realize you violate our contract".
